The five executive members formulate management decisions regarding the daily operations of the building and services. The five executive are overseen by a council comprised of 33 voting members.

The executive will each have their Fall Term office hours posted here shortly, although these may change due to meetings that come up in the course of business. It is best to book appointments in advance to ensure the executive are free and available when you wish to see them.

The President is the chief spokesperson for the DSU.  She sits on the University Board of Governors and the University Senate and act as the chief liaison to the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations and the Alliance of Nova Scotia Student Associations, the DSU's provincial and national lobbying groups respectively.  The President oversees all day-to-day operations of the Union and writes much of the DSU's policy.

The Vice President (Internal) is the Chief Communications Officer of the Union. He facilitates all of the DSU's many and diverse societies, oversees all student communications - including the handbook and DSU website, and organize the DSU's annual Leadership Conference.  The Vice President (Internal) Chairs several committees including:  DSU Sustainability Office Board of Directors, Student Accessibility Fund, Residence Relations, Sexton Campus Advisory, Communications and Awareness, Grants, and Society Review.

Vice President Finance and Operations

The Vice President (Finance and Operations) is the Chief Financial and Operations Officer of the Union. He oversees all the finances of the Union and arrange payment for day-to-day operations and full-time staff. He audits the books of levied societies and is responsible for writing the yearly budget for the Union. He also chairs on various committees including: Board of Operations, Recruitment, and the University Parking and Security.  The Vice President (Finance and Operations) also oversees many operational aspects of the Union, such as Tiger Patrol.

The Vice President (Education) advocates and informs students about academic issues, including intellectual honesty concerns. The Vice President (Education) also sits on the University Senate and represents students via various university committees and through municipal, provincial, and federal lobby organizations. He is responsible for the Union's external and academic policies through Chairing the Academic and External Affairs Committee.

The Vice President (Student Life) orchestrates activities that aim to increase student spirit on campus. He coordinates Orientation Week, the DSU Charity Ball, Student Appreciation Night, DalFest, FallFest, Winter Carnival, the Residence Hockey Game, and various other DSU sponsored activities that occur during the year. He also chairs several committees surrounding these events, are responsible for promoting varsity athletics on campus, and oversee the activities of the Shinerama Director.
