Picnic Face

Picnicface is a sketch-comedy group based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Formed less then two years ago, the group's unique, absurdist style has quickly caught on with millions of Internet viewers in North America and around the world. Will Ferrell has taken notice of them on his website funnyordie.com, saying "Picnicface cranks out the goods", and Dan Redican, producer of the legendary sketch show Kids in the Hall, said Picnicface is "probably the best comedy troupe currently working in Canada." Picnicface consists of eight members: Andrew Bush, Kyle Dooley, Cheryl Hann, Mark Little, Brian MacQuarrie, Evany Rosen, Scott Vrooman and Bill Wood.

Picnic Face 2

"If you’re not familiar with him - he was COCA speaker of the year and...

In over 140 schools throughout Canada, Europe, Latin America and the U.S. Award-Winning "Social Acupuncturist" Daniel Packard playfully and entertainingly gives every body a much needed dose of reality.

He…

  • Inspires girls to stop being blaming victims
  • Motivates girls to pro-actively go after what they want.
  • Teaches boys what girls really need and how they can give it to them.
  • Clears up lots of rumors and misconceptions on both sides
  • Teach everybody to stop being so afraid and have more fun.

Daniel sheds lights on the fact that there isn't the "nice guy" and "horny guy."  It's the SAME GUY!!!  Daniel uses humor to show women how to stop judging horny and that's when they find where all where are all the good guys are hiding.

Also, boys are scared and intimidated and when women stop waiting for men to do all the work, but actually come after us, that's when things get really good.  Daniel shows women how to playfully and intelligently go after men in a safe fun way that will get them the fun, love and respect they are looking for.

Women love the show because they hear often unheard insights into the male psyche that will help them make much smarter, healthier choices towards men. Men love the show because it is very cathartic for them to see Daniel say the things they are often too afraid to express around women."

Big Ticket Concert featuring MMVA winners Wintersleep

"Miasmal Smoke + The Yellow Bellied Freaks" starts its marching build
with echoing drums and an organ bleeding out a nervous buzz. Epic
and lonely, it's the score for the flickering light of a glowing soul that
closes the door to Wintersleep's third album, Welcome to the Night Sky.

Like its final song, the album built up gradually over the past two
years. From a mass of ghostly melodies, half-finished lyrics and nerve splicing drum beats, it has shaped into the band's finest collection to date.

Following the release of their 2005 self-titled sophomore album,
Wintersleep spent months on the road touring through Canada,
America and Europe. Upon return to their native Halifax, the band
enlisted the ear of veteran producer Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Belle &
Sebastian and Super Furry Animals), and hid themselves in studio for
April and May of 2007. It was during this time that the ten tracks of Welcome... grew into their final stunning form.

The album shows continuity with the band's previous work, but also
marks a significant development. The uneasy pacing of "Drunk on
Aluminum" voyages into unexpected depths as the song's plaintive
notes collect themselves into an offensive against the darkness that
threatens to engulf. Although lyrically related, "Dead Letter + The
Infinite Yes" counters this with organic chords, soaring melodies and a
backbone of pounding rhythm. From the howling chorus of
"Archaeologists," to the drifting-conscious of "Lasers Beams," the
emotional and thematic cohesion of the album never loosens.
Each song in its own way points to the fact that sometimes looking too hard reveals things best left unseen. But still, hope grows beneath these sable clouds and distant stars, and a light that looms beyond them all. Until then, welcome to the night sky...
