As a thank you to students who are active with the DSU and involved in various extracurricular activities and student groups on campus, the DSU is hosting its annual Student Appreciation Night.

The Dalhousie Student Union is proud to invite you to our annual Student Appreciation Night on Saturday March 13^th, 2010.

 This is a semi formal event that is dedicated entirely to students and their accomplishments throughout the school year. The event is completely FREE and includes dinner, dancing, awards (for both societies and individuals) as well as a performance by one of Dalhousie’s favorites Tony Lee, hypnotist.

 PHOTOS!!!

 In order to make this night a huge success as well as to give you a chance to show off your stuff we’re asking you for a little bit of help. If you would like you and your friends, or your society to be able to show off their accomplishments and fun from the year in style, send us your photos! Each student society may submit up to 15 photos which will be printed and displayed at the event for everyone to see. Individual students may do the same but are limited to 10 photos.

 Photos must be emailed to dsuvpsl@dal.ca with the subject line “Student Appreciation Night Photos” and be clearly labeled as to which society or individual they are from. Photos can also be placed on a USB flash drive and dropped off at the information desk in the Student Union Building. (Don’t worry; you’ll get your drive back)

 AWARDS!!!

 Each year we do our best to recognize the accomplishments of our fellow students. One of the ways in which we do this is through our awards at Student Appreciation Night. Attached is are application forms in which your society or you as an individual may apply to receive one of the SAN awards (it’s like the Grammys at DAL!). If you or your society is interested in applying for an award please fill out the application and follow the instructions. Applications can be dropped off at the information desk in the Student Union Building or emailed to dsuvpsl@dal.ca with the subject line “Student Appreciation Night Awards.”

 TICKETS!!!

In order to receive tickets for the event, a representative from your student society may come to the Dalhousie Student Union office on the second floor of the Student Union Building and collect them on behalf of your society. This individual must present a valid Dalhousie student ID and sign their name to indicate that they have picked up the tickets for their society. Select societies (listed in the attached excel file), will be able to collect up to 10 tickets, all other societies may collect up to 5. Unfortunately at the moment the tickets have not arrived in the mail however as soon as they do an email will be sent immediately to inform you. All tickets will be distributed on a first come first serve basis.

Starting Thursday March 11^th at 8:30am, any tickets that are left unclaimed by societies will be made available to the general student population. At that time any student with a valid Dalhousie student ID will be able to claim up to 2 tickets from themselves. Societies will still be able to collect tickets under the conditions above while supplies last.
