Survivor Support Volunteer Training

*Please note that registration for training is now closed. Please email survivorsupport@dal.ca if you'd like to volunteer in the future.

The Survivor Support Centre offers non-judgemental, active listening, and support to anyone who has experienced or has been affected by sexualized violence. We offer a confidential Phone Line for survivors, active listenin services, and peer education. 

To volunteer with the Survivor Support Centre, we ask you do the following:

  1. Complete Nova Scotia’s Sexual Violence Strategy “Breaking the Silence” Training online at  https://breakthesilencens.ca/training and send a copy of your Certificate to the Survivor Support Manager at survivorsupport@dal.ca
  2. Complete a Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check at https://www.halifax.ca/fire-police/police/criminal-record-check and send copies to the Survivor Support Manager at survivorsupport@dal.ca

  3. Complete the following form to register for training

  4. Complete the two-day survivor support, phone line, and active listening training (upon registration, training dates will be emailed to you)
