DSU Caucuses

Caucuses are groups that meet to plan and strategize how to represent DSU members at the governing bodies of the University: the Board of Governors and the Senate. If you're interested in someday working as a DSU commissioner or officer, running for a councillor or executive position, or you just want to be involved in your student union, joining a caucus is a great way to start!

DSU Committees

DSU Committees are established in our governing documents, or by motions passed at Council meetings or Executive Committee meetings. Committees have specific goals and are composed of small groups of executives, councillors, and general members working together to plan events; support societies; make improvements to the DSU's operations, services, and policies; or to carry out other important work.

On-campus general volunteer

If you would like a casual volunteering role, and just want to be included within the pool of volunteers interested in one-time volunteering opportunities and events on the Dalhousie campus, this would be for you. You may be helping with event setups, society needs, or various other on-campus volunteer requests, as given by the Dalhousie community. Volunteer opportunities may include sources outside of the DSU located on the Dalhousie campus. You will be notified of potential opportunities by email.

Media Outreach Volunteer

Volunteers who are social media savvy will help expand the DSU’s social media outreach to inform students of upcoming events and opportunities. You will develop your photography and writing skills by generating content for our online platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. Volunteers can also help with outreach by promoting events, assisting with class talks, events and programming for students. This role is suitable for outgoing individuals looking for connection and community with other students. Duties are project-based and will require meeting with other team members biweekly to discuss upcoming campaigns, events and projects.
