DSU ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

WHAT IS THE AGM?

The DSU AGM is a yearly gathering of Dalhousie Students to discuss and make decisions on important matters that affect the student body. It's an opportunity for you to have a direct impact on your university experience and the direction of the DSU!

The AGM is an opportunity for all DSU members to come together to hear about the work that the Executive and Council have been doing and are planning for the coming year, and to make decisions about the direction of the Union. All Dalhousie students are members of the DSU and have voting rights at the AGM, so come and have your say!

Please bring your student ID with you. Event staff will be greeting attendees at the entrance to confirm their registration status and list them as present for the meeting.

HELP US MEET QUORUM

What is quorum? 

For the AGM to move ahead and for the DSU to make changes, 1% of the student-body must attend and vote at the AGM. To help us meet quorum:

1. Register for & attend the DSU AGM with your Dal ID card in hand-on the new date, November 3rd, 6:00pm.

2. Bring your Friends: Currently we need (214) students in order to meet quorum! Grab as many friends as you can, come get your free pizza and join the meeting.

3. Stay until the end of AGM to cast your vote. .
   
   Quorum will be announced via our website once classes resume, and a count is provided.

NOTE: Members wishing to propose resolutions for the Annual General Meeting must submit a petition with at least 100 members’ names, student numbers, and signatures. Petitions must be submitted to the Chair (dsuchair@dal.ca) by at least 10 days before the AGM to be included in the meeting agenda.

All Documents will be uploaded here at least 7 days before the AGM.

Past general meeting Minutes

Minutes from 2017-2022 are not available because there were not enough members in attendance at the meetings to constitute quorum, so no decisions were made. These meetings each proceeded as a forum with executive reports, presentation of the audit, and time for questions.
