DSU Sustainability Office

The Dalhousie Student Union Sustainability Office (DSUSO) strives to create a culture of sustainability within DSU Operations and at Dalhousie University. They seek to improve our university community by making the DSU an ecologically aware, economically responsible, socially equitable institution.

To encourage communication within the Dalhousie student community, DSUSO acts as a hub to identify, assess, and address challenges of environmental sustainability on campus.


Goals

To implement and fund student-run sustainability initiatives on campus

To inspire environmentally conscious thinking in our community.

To create a network of environmentally focused groups on campus

To develop and implement a DSU Sustainability issues and operations policy

To address growing food insecurity on campus through food justice events and programs 


What we offer

Green Grants:
Grants for environmental and social sustainability-related initiatives 

Green Gala:
An annual gala for all sustainability students

Green Week:
A week of events and activities about various sustainability issues and initiatives 

Sexton Breakfast Club:
Free breakfast servings twice a week in the Emera Idea Building

Monthly events:
Clothing swaps, workshops, event sponsorships, and more! Feel free to reach out if you have an event that you would like us to support


Sustainability Hub
campus ecosystem resource

The Sustainability Hub was created by the Dalhousie Student Union Sustainability Office with the intent to clarify the workings of different groups on campus. Our definition of sustainability in this context is a group which relates to the holistic nature of environmental, social and economic development.
