Emergency Member Grants

The Emergency Member Grant offers temporary financial relief to domestic students experiencing unexpected financial hardship. Please note that funding is limited, so eligibility does not guarantee an award. Incomplete applications will not be considered. See below for full details.

Eligibility

• Must be in their 2nd year of study or above at Dalhousie University.

• Must be a domestic student.

• Financial need must stem from a one-time, unforeseen circumstance, including but not limited to: Sudden loss of income.

• Medical emergency.

• A family crisis or unexpected death.

• Sudden housing instability.

• Unexpected essential expenses.

• Financial need must not arise from ongoing or general financial difficulties (e.g., rent, groceries, phone bills).

Details

• This grant may be awarded once per academic year.

• Applicants must demonstrate attempts to minimize costs or explore other funding avenues before applying.

• Only successful applicants will be notified by email. Awards may be revoked if eligibility changes or if information provided is found to be false.

Deadline

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and reviewed approximately every 3 weeks.
