MEMBER SERVICE Assistants | SUB INFO DESK

As of May 01st, 2023, the Member Services Desk will not be operating in the DSU. All services previously offered by the Member Services Desk will be offered at the Info Desk in the Main Lobby of the SUB.
You can reach out to execadm@dal.ca for anything you would have previously contacted the Member Services Desk for. For any additional questions, reach out to dsusocieties@dal.ca 

The DSU Information Desk operates under the Department of Societies and Programming to offer a variety of different resources and support to our students and ratified societies. Below is a breakdown of all the different services Member Service Assistants can offer to our ratified societies and how to access them: 


Society Tabling at Info Desk 

Does your society need to promote something? Perhaps you are selling tickets or merch and would like to get the word out there. No worries! Societies are welcome to the table with our Member Service Assistants at the Information Desk in the Main Lobby of the SUB! To do this, you simply must send an email to execadm@dal.ca requesting permission.   

NOTE: For Bake Sale tabling, please contact dsu.meetings@dal.ca Only request to table at the Info Desk for any activities that pose no potential damage or messiness to the Desk.


Booking The Society Hub

Society Hub Boardroom (Room 342) 

Room 342 of the SUB is the Society Hub Boardroom. This room can be booked exclusively by ratified societies of the DSU. This room is ideal for small meetings and conferences, and comes equipped with a projector, screen, and whiteboards.

To book this room, you simply must send an email to execadm@dal.ca requesting permission.  

NOTE: The projector DOES NOT have a MAC adaptor. *
It is the responsibility of your society to clean up when finished.

Society Hub Study Area and Lounge 

Across from Room 303 of the SUB, you can find the Society Hub. The Society Hub is all-encompassing of all public areas beyond glass door entrance to the space. It is inclusive of the Study Space, Society Lounges, and kitchenette area.

Societies will now be able to book this general area for their operations and events by sending an email to request permission to execadm@dal.ca  

NOTE: Room set-up and arrangement CANNOT be changed. Keep this in mind if you plan on hosting an event here!
 


Society Locker Rentals 

Are you tired of commuting around campus with event supplies? The DSU offers Society Locker rentals on the 3rd Floor of the SUB. These massive lockers can be found in the Kitchenette area of the Society Hub. A Society Locker can be rented out for the entire academic year for FREE. To secure a Society Locker for your group, please contact execadm@dal.ca to procure a contract. 

NOTE: Societies are responsible for keeping their respective locker and surrounding areas clean. Please keep this communal resource tidy! Additionally, societies are responsible for re-applying or vacating their locker space at the end of their term.  


Updating Internal Files with the DSU 

Did your society have a turnover in Executives? Perhaps your banking information or main contact email has changed? If your society has gone through any internal changes, you should notify the DSU. We will update information pertaining to your society on our records.

If you’d like to update any of this information that the DSU has on file, please send an email to execadm@dal.ca with any updates you have for the DSU! 


Key Sign-Outs for Society Offices 

Does your society operate in the SUB? Maybe you are one of our recipient Society Office occupants for the year? Either way, the DSU Info Desk manages all keys for the building.

If you’d like to update your Key Sign-Out list, sign out your key, or in general find out more about these procedures, you can email execadm@dal.ca to discuss everything Key Sign-Out(s)!
