Mark your calendar for the International Student Orientation for new international students!

International Student Orientation will be held in-person on Wednesday, September 2 at The Marion McCain Arts and Social Sciences Building from 9:00am to 3:00pm. This orientation session will give you an introduction to Dalhousie, workshops and resources designed to help you transition to your life in Halifax, and opportunities to connect with your fellow students.

There will be a fun activity after the International Student Orientation as well!

Back-to-School Free Store Shop (Multi-Day) (Copy)

Get ready for the school year at the Free Store!

From September 2nd to 5th, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., students can shop for free by presenting a valid Dal or King’s ID card (or other proof of enrolment). Take up to 3 items or item sets per visit and enter once per day for a chance to win a mini fridge raffle prize.

Items in stock include home goods (laundry baskets, organizers, shower caddies), school supplies (binders, notebooks), kitchenware (dishes, cutlery, cups, Brita pitchers), bedding and mattress toppers, and lab coats, and more!

Supplies are limited and available first come, first served—while supplies last.

The Free Store is physically accessible (i.e. ground-level entrance, spacious layout meeting mobility requirements). The space itself is brightly lit, and during the BTS shop, the line to get in can be long, taking around 1 hour to be admitted - this may require extended periods of standing, although there are benches outside of the building.

Able@Dal Assistive Technology Virtual session

Level Up Your Learning with Tech at Dal!

In this fun and practical virtual session, students will be introduced to Able@Dal Assistive Technology services and the must-know tools available at Dalhousie, including Microsoft Office, Read&Write, and a variety of apps for studying, organization, and productivity.

Students will also learn about supports like the Assistive Technology Library and how an Assistive Technology Advisor can help them discover tools tailored to their unique learning needs. Whether students are looking to stay organized, enhance reading and writing, or make everyday academic tasks more manageable, this session will help them feel confident, prepared, and ready to thrive from day one.

The Happy Human Project Hangout

The Happy Human Project will be hanging out in our Low Sensory Space in Room 224!

Founded in 2021, HHP is a student-led initiative dedicated to promoting positive mental health and community building. They believe happiness is rooted in kindness, inclusivity, charity, and wellness. Over the years, HHP has hosted a variety of engaging events for students, including food drives, a 5K run for the CIBC Run for the Cure, puppy yoga with Wellness Wags, kindness card giveaways, and volunteering with Dalhousie’s Loaded Ladle.
