Public Speaking Workshop: Student Leadership Academy

Speaking up in class, introducing yourself to new people, presenting group projects, and sharing your ideas can feel intimidating when you're new to university.
University 101 (Multiple sessions)

Attend this session to learn the essentials for starting at Dal and feel more confident navigating university life.

School of Health and Human Performance Mental Health Mixer
Time: 10:30 AM - 12 PM
Location: Dalplex Fitness Centre - Studio 1
The mixer will include yoga followed by social time and snacks, giving students a chance to reset before classes get busy, try something new, and connect with others in a welcoming space.

Join this academic strategy session for pro-tips and a bit of myth-busting to get you on track for a great year. Concerned your instructors will see you as number and not as an individual? Not sure how asking questions will really come across? Concerned you’ll need to study non-stop to stay on top of your course load? And what's up with A.I.? We’ll de-bunk some common misconceptions and provide University-based strategies for success at Dalhousie.
Digital Communications: Student Leadership Academy
Time: 2 PM - 3:30 PM
Location: Rowe Building, Room 1020
Learn how to communicate professionally and confidently in a university environment. This workshop covers email etiquette, working with peers and student organizations, creating engaging presentations, and navigating the digital tools and resources available at Dalhousie. Participants will leave with practical skills to support academic success, collaboration, and leadership involvement from day one.
Something to Talk About: Consent, Communication, and Hooking Up

Join Human Rights & Equity Services’ Sexual Violence Prevention Team, Dalhousie Student Union's Sexual Education Resource Centre, and Venus Envy for an interactive session exploring consent, communication, relationships, and hooking up.

Where Does Your Time Actually Go?
Classes, studying, making friends, and trying new things— it’s a lot to take on at once. If things feel out of balance sometimes, that’s normal!
Join the Care Crew and graduate student facilitators from the School of Occupational Therapy for an evening of mocktails and snacks as you map out where your time is really going and identify what may be draining your energy.
