CKDU-FM is Halifax’s only FM campus-community radio station. We are a volunteer-run, 3200-watt station broadcasting 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, from the Dalhousie campus to the metro Halifax area. CKDU-FM has been broadcasting as an FM station since 1985.

WUSC - Dalhousie/King's Local Committee

We sponsor the education and resettlement of refugee students at Dalhousie University. As a part of WUSC's Student Refugee Program, our local campus committee contributes towards creating access to education for displaced youth from conflict-torn areas of the world.

We sponsor the education and resettlement of refugee students at Dalhousie University. As a part of WUSC's Student Refugee Program, our local campus committee contributes towards creating access to education for displaced youth from conflict-torn areas of the world.

Our student members provide social, academic, financial, health and wellbeing support to the sponsored newcomer students and seek to raise awareness about refugee resettlement. We also host events, activities, and outings -- ranging from pumpkin carving to skating to winter clothing shopping -- to welcome these students to Canada and to Dalhousie.

Join us if you're interested in making your campus a more welcoming place while also contributing to global development as a whole. All are welcome!

The Bike society provides free bike rentals, repair space and events such as workshops and group rides to Dalhousie and King Students! The Bike Society’s purpose is to lower barriers to accessing bike-related resources for everyone, but especially students.

The Bike Society’s purpose is to lower barriers to accessing bike-related resources for everyone, but especially students.

Through the Centre, the Society provides students free bike loans and repair space. The loan programs allow students to have an active and eco-friendly form of transport that is fun, social, and brings them outside. The Centre provides a workspace, tools and parts to repair one’s bike and employs qualified students as mechanics to assist students maintain and repair their bikes. Along with this assistance, we also provide workshops so that students can learn more about maintaining their bikes themselves. The Society also organizes bike rides to allow students to explore the city and make friends!

Kings & Dalhousie Bike Society

The Centre & its rentals are run by students, for students - we host rides and events and offer free bike loans to Dal & King's students as well as a shop for bike repairs. We believe that helping people feel comfortable and confident working on their bike can help them save money, feel empowered, and show how fun and rewarding doing your own repairs can be. Our well-equipped shop has affordable parts and is staffed by knowledge

The Society also regularly organizes rides of varying lengths in and around the HRM - these are a great way to spend time outside and get some exercise while meeting new people and enjoying some of the beautiful places in and around Halifax. Many are geared towards riders who want to build skills, confidence and familiarity with city riding while others are longer, more challenging, and will appeal more to experienced riders!
