Dalhousie Dental Brigades is a University Chapter for the non-profit, student-led organization Global Dental Brigades, which provides access to free dental care in remote, under-resourced communities in Honduras, Panama, and Guatemala.

Through various fundraising events held throughout the year, our society will raise money to travel to one of the above locations on a 7-day volunteer dental brigade. During this brigade you will have the chance to shadow licensed dentists as they provide care for their patients, assist with patient screening, and even organize educational oral care workshops!

If you're a pre-dental undergraduate student, current dental student, dental hygiene student, or are just someone interested in enacting meaningful change by helping to provide oral care to communities that need it, this is the society for you!

Dalhousie Board Gaming Society

he DBGS congregates in their collective love for the growing hobby of tabletop gaming: featuring interests in such board games as Dominion, Settlers of Catan, Avalon, & many more. We bring together students to take a break from the strife of campus life and studying to relax and enjoy some light-hearted competition (or cooperation!) with their peers.

The purpose of Dalhousie Board Gaming Society is to gather a group of fun like-minded people together over their shared love of board games. Whether larger events or weekly meetings, board games are the name of the game, and we play them! We bring together students to take a break from the strife of campus life to relax and enjoy some light-hearted competition (or cooperation!) with their peers over the growing hobby of tabletop gaming. Using and accepting every board game you could possibly think of, we hope build long lasting friendships around them.

We meet every Thursday evening in the SUB to play our wide variety of games, including some of these recognizable classics: Catan, 7 Wonders, Dominion, Ticket to Ride, et cetera; and even some beloved party games to end every meeting in a grand fashion. Also, we are absolutely "bring your own game" friendly and are always down to add new games to our learnt repertoire.

Dalhousie Conservative Club

The Dalhousie Conservative Club brings together young like-minded conservatives to socialize and network during their years at Dalhousie University. We’re united by a shared vision of a province and a country that is fiscally responsible and socially progressive. Members of the Conservative Club have the unique opportunity to strengthen Canada’s conservative movement by networking with fellow young conservatives, joining Canada’s largest think tanks, and supporting the efforts of Atlantic Canada's conservative parties.

The Dalhousie Conservative Club recognizes that in order for students and youth to have their concerns prioritized by federal and provincial governments they must play an active role in the political process. It is for this reason that we work alongside the Conservative Party of Canada and the PC Party of Nova Scotia to engage students in the political process in a multitude of ways. These include volunteering at political rallies, door-knocking throughout the city of Halifax, attending EDA Board Meetings, hosting guest speakers, and attending party functions. These opportunities allow students to network with like-minded people throughout Halifax, Nova Scotia, and all of Canada. It also provides our members wit the chance to enrich themselves in the political process, becoming well-versed in the issues, learning about campaign operations, and about all the local work that goes into maintaining a political party. This experience is critical in building the leaders of tomorrow.

Additionally, in an environment where conservatives have traditionally been outcasted and stigmatized, the Dalhousie Conservative Club is a welcoming space for conservative-leaning minds on the Dalhousie campus. The club envisions a future that is socially progressive and fiscally conservative, one that respects multiculturalism, women, people of colour, and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and one that addresses the challenges that youth face in today’s society!
