SODALES - The Dalhousie and King's Debate Society
Sodales provides training and opportunities for Dal/King's students to debate competitively at the regional, national and international levels. Practices are held twice a week and members can choose how competitive they wish to be.
Sodales provides the opportunity for Dalhousie and King’s College students to engage in competitive and non-competitive debates on a range of topics. We debate in two different styles throughout the year, British Parliamentary in the Fall, and Canadian Parliamentary in the Winter. Throughout the year, we provide a range of learning opportunities through training days and seminars as well as weekly practices.
For those who are interested, we provide partially funded opportunities to attend debate tournaments locally, nationally, and internationally. Sodales also provides debate leadership opportunities through our exec positions and opportunities to serve on the organisation committees of the 3 to 4 debate tournaments we host each year.
Beyond debate, Sodales also organizes social events to grow to culture of our society and to foster discussion in a less formal setting.

Dalhousie Board Gaming Society (DGBS)
A collection of Dalhousie students bound in their mutual love of the board gaming hobby.
The DBGS congregates in their collective love for the growing hobby of tabletop gaming: featuring interests in such board games as Dominion, Settlers of Catan, 7 Wonders, Avalon, & many more. We bring together students to take a break from the strife of campus life and studying to relax and enjoy some light-hearted competition and cooperation with their peers.

Dalhousie Smash Bros. Society (DSBS)
We facilitate the fighting game scene in halifax with a focus on Super Smash Brothers. We host weekly tournaments on sundays, feel free to reach out for more info!!
Our society helps bring people together through competitive video games.
We are important as we bring a sense of community to over 50+ players.
Anyone is welcome to participate in our tournaments, especially Dal students.
Our main focus is Smash Bros Ultimate tournaments run once a week!
