Jack.org Dalhousie
We are the official Jack.org Chapter at Dalhousie University, part of Jack.org - Canada’s only charity that trains and empowers young people to create positive change for mental health in their communities.
Our chapter supports students throughout their university experience by promoting mental health awareness, increasing mental health literacy, reducing stigma, and encouraging open conversations. We strengthen student wellbeing at Dalhousie and in the community by helping students connect with one another, access supports, and feel confident supporting their peers.
We deliver educational and community based programming, including workshops, peer learning activities, outreach, awareness campaigns, resource sharing, and fun community building events. We share tools and supports from Jack.org, Dalhousie, and local community partners to help students learn about mental health, build coping skills, and know where to find support.

The SPF (Skin Protection Force) Society is a dedicated community of university student advocates committed to educating individuals of all ages about the importance of protecting their skin from harmful UV rays.
Our mission is to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools to protect their skin from dangerous UV rays, promoting a lifelong habit of sun safety. Through interactive programs, engaging resources, and collaborative initiatives, we strive to ensure that everyone develops a strong understanding of the risks associated with sun exposure and the preventive measures needed to maintain healthy skin. Together, we can foster a community that makes well-informed decisions that allow everyone to enjoy the sun responsibly.
Dalhousie students can act as volunteers with SPF to educate local schools, teams, and workplaces on sun safety. This will allow members to build skills in presenting, communication, health advocacy, and teamwork. SPF members can take on roles in community engagement, educational resource development, or presentation delivery.
Dalhousie Blood Society (DalBlood)
We are a group of students interested in advocating for and promoting blood donation in the Dalhousie community. We strive to inform students about the important roles blood and tissue donors play in Canada's healthcare system, and encourage anyone who is eligible to join Canada's Lifeline. DalBlood works closely with Canadian Blood Services (CBS) to organize on-campus blood donation clinics, where many of our society members volunteer to support CBS staff.

Wellness At Dalhousie
Often, people think of wellness as a state of health rather than mental and physical well-being. We want to show that wellness is a journey rather than an end result. Often, people think of wellness as a state of health rather than mental and physical well-being. We want to show that wellness is a journey rather than an end result. There are various methods and activities that foster well being and it is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach. For example, meditation is not only in the form of stillness and silence but can also be done through walking, yoga, reading, etc. Although, when we use the word ‘meditate’ people often only think of remaining silently in place for an extended period of time. As students ourselves, we know how hectic life can get and are hoping to show various wellness routines to help encourage students to incorporate them into their personal lives.
This club will allow students to hold each other accountable in their journey and particular habits as well as hold weekly meetings to discuss progress and show each other support! Even for those who have yet to start their own wellness journey, they can still feel free to come and learn more about the possible paths they can take.
