We are an official member group operating as an extension of EngiQueers Canada, a national non-profit that represents the 2SLGTBQIA+ community in engineering & celebrates, promotes, and advocates for equity, diversity, and belonging in engineering. Our three pillars are 1. professional development (e.g., sending delegates to the annual national EngiQueers Canada conference), 2. education & advocacy (e.g., delivering EDIA training), and 3. social connection (e.g., hosting events on campus such as drag shows, community walks, art nights, and more). Dal EQ has a General Member Community that students and professionals are invited to join.

Force Seven Sailing (F7S)

Force Seven Sailing (F7S)

Force Seven Sailing is a Dalhousie student design team created in collaboration with the Memorial University of Newfoundland. We will be competing in the SuMoth competition, which involves designing, building, testing and racing a foiling Moth class sailboat. SuMoth is a rapidly growing international competition with focuses on sustainability and inclusion. We are looking for students who are interested in engineering, aeronautics and sailing to join our team.

Dalhousie Marine Conservation Society (DMC)

The Dalhousie Marine Conservation Society (DMC) aims to cultivate the interest of marine conservation science in undergraduate students, primarily targeting students in marine biology, biology, environmental science, sustainability and related majors. Marine science is multi-sectoral, and conservation is increasingly important as the effects of climate change and the overexploitation of marine animals and ecosystems are gaining prominence. DMC plans to introduce and engage students in this marine science sector while raising awareness of the broad range of opportunities in this field, including research, statistics, NGOs, and fieldwork.

PennyDrops Dalhousie Chapter

PennyDrops is a national not-for-profit organization with chapters at multiple universities across the country. The goal of PennyDrops is to teach students financial literacy skills, so that they can acquire the tools they need to reach their financial goals. PennyDrops conducts presentations on various topics, such as investing, budgeting and credit. The presentations are made to Dalhousie students and high school students at local high schools. The role of members who are involved in the society is to give presentations.
