Dalhousie Roundnet Club

The Dalhousie Roundnet Club promotes the playing of the sport Roundnet, which is commonly known as Spikeball! We offer the opportunity for organized play twice a week during the Fall semester on the Wickwire Field. Both casual and competitive play is present.

Dalhousie Water Polo Association

The Dalhousie Water Polo Association is a co-ed team that consists of students
and members of the community from beginners to intermediate & advanced
level players who want to learn or continue playing water polo.

We aim to encourage sportsmanship and physical activity for our members;
we also aim to teach skills related to water polo and team strategy. Student members participate in in-pool and dryland sessions, and have the option to participate in tournaments with other water polo teams from around the Maritimes.

Our society is important because it encourages the cohesion of Dalhousie students and community members, and provides an opportunity to stay active in a fun, engaging, and challenging way.

The Loaded Ladle serves free, locally produced meals! Anyone and everyone is welcome to volunteer with us or eat our delicious food. Tetra Society of North America - Dalhousie Chapter

At Tetra, our focus is to find solutions to environmental barriers faced by people with disabilities. The society acts as a precursor to being a full-time Tetra volunteer. There are two parts of the society, the administrative side and the design team. If you're interested in volunteering but not designing or budling anything this is the society for you! We will be conducting all organizational and fundraising for the design team on the administrative side. Additionally, if you are looking to build your technical skills with client based projects the design team would be a perfect fit. Rather than approaching a client request alone, you will work with a small group of like minded individuals along with our Mechanical engineering team lead. We intend to work weekly in the makerspace and have access to several other workshops in Halifax.

Dalhousie Anime Society

The Dalhousie Anime Club (DAC) organizes events on campus related to anime and Japanese media. These include movie and TV episode screenings, video games, board games, and party games like Kahoot trivia and Jackbox.

For over 10 years DAC has been providing a very important and unique leisure area for local fans of Japanese media. Students participate in events by sharing and engaging with their passions, and getting creative with fun and collaborative activities. Although anime is our focus, DAC is all-inclusive, and represents an integral part of campus life both inside and outside its target audience.

Dalhousie/King's Figure Skating Club

The overarching goal of the DKFSC is to give Dalhousie and King’s students and faculty, as well as Dalplex members, who have previous figure skating experience, the opportunity to easily integrate figure skating into their lives. The club offers 5 hours of open practice sessions every week throughout the fall and winter terms for only $50 + the Skate Canada membership fee.

The DKFSC is an official Skate Canada club, meaning that members are able to compete at any level through the club, including at Nova Scotia provincials, and Atlantics! Travel and accommodations within the province will also be covered by the club to provide all skaters the opportunity to compete.

Mfuwe Epilepsy Society

The Mfuwe Epilepsy Society (MES) is dedicated to supporting the Mfuwe Epilepsy Foundation's mission of addressing the prevalent issue of epilepsy and combating the associated stigma in the rural region of Mufwe, Zambia. To achieve this goal, MES plans to organize fundraisers throughout the year, generating funds to support diverse initiatives of the Mfuwe Epilepsy Foundation. These initiatives are aimed at improving healthcare equity, ensuring access to healthcare services, and conducting healthcare research related to epilepsy in the region.

MES also places emphasis on education and awareness-building within the Dalhousie community. By disseminating information and knowledge about epilepsy, the society seeks to enhance understanding and empathy towards those affected by the condition, thereby contributing to a reduction in the social stigma surrounding epilepsy.

Overall, the Mfuwe Epilepsy Society endeavors to foster positive change by supporting healthcare initiatives, encouraging research, and fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for individuals living with epilepsy.

Dalhousie Cheerleading Team

We are the Dalhousie Cheerleading Team ! We are a student-run cheerleading team that supports varsity and club teams, and competes in local competitions. We are proud to have won 6 National Championships and 2 National Grand Championships!

Dal Cheer trains five hours per week and competes annually at local competitions (typically Maritime Meltdown, Cheer Blast, and Cheer Expo) in addition to supporting Dalhousie varsity and club teams.

Dalhousie Field Hockey

The Dalhousie Field Hockey team is a competitive club that promotes student-athlete development, fitness, and respect in sport. We are among the most competitive teams in the 8-team Atlantic University Field Hockey League, and have won the championship 6 times since 2010.

The team is led by a coaching staff focused on player development, team dynamics, physical fitness, and sport psychology. Our core coaching staff is made up of Dalhousie alumni who continue to contribute to the provincial development of the sport.

The season runs from the beginning of September until the end of October, and consists of two to three weekend tournaments to determine league placement. A final weekend tournament is played for the Atlantic University Field Hockey title. All tournaments are held within the Maritime provinces with rotating hosting duties between the universities.

Anyone with an interest in field hockey is encouraged to try out for the team. Tryouts are typically held during the first week of September, and a team of approximately 20 athletes is selected. Our season is short and sweet, so we expect a high level of engagement and commitment from all of our athletes.
